Almonds are high in vitamin E, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and other nutrients. All of these nutrients are required for a strong and healthy immune system. Don't overlook almonds in the winter when they can give you a much-needed energy boost.

Chia seeds are high in essential nutrients, and you don't need to consume a lot of them to reap the full benefits. Just two teaspoons once a week can provide a slew of health benefits such as blood pressure reduction, weight loss, and blood sugar regulation. If you overindulge during the holidays, add some chia seeds to your diet to help balance out your immune system.

Peanuts are, and have been for a long time, one of the most popular nuts. While peanuts aren't often seen in the regular diet, eating them raw in the winter can be very beneficial. They're strong in resveratrol, which naturally nourishes and hydrates dry skin, they're a good choice. This is especially useful during the winter, when the weather causes dry areas on the skin.
